Brief About Me

BIOGRAPHY

I obtained my B.Sc. degree from Ankara University, Department of Biology, in 1996. In the same year, I commenced my M.Sc. studies at Middle East Technical University, Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences, Department of Biochemistry. Subsequently, I successfully completed my Ph.D. studies at Ankara University, Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences, Department of Biology. During my Ph.D. studies, I gained valuable experience by working at The Open University, Milton Keynes, United Kingdom, for a duration of one year.

In 2009, I was appointed as an Assistant Professor at Kastamonu University, Faculty of Science, Department of Biology. I achieved the rank of Associate Professor in Biochemistry in 2013. Since 2018, I have been working as a Professor.

My research interests revolve around High Hydrostatic Pressure and the extraction of primary and secondary metabolites from plants, focusing on their anti-infective properties. I have numerous publications and have actively participated in various academic activities within my research domain.

Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of teaching a variety of courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels. In addition to my work in biology, I have amassed extensive experience through involvement in various national and international projects related to e-learning and distance education in biology, where I served as a senior instructional designer and manager.

HOBBIES

One of my hobbies is playing the electric guitar, and I am an enthusiastic fan of bands like Iron Maiden, Megadeth, and Metallica.

Apart from my guitar playing, I also practice KENDO. I take immense pride in being a member of the Ankara Kendo family (www.ankarakendo.com).
